Week 6 EQ and Journal: Slab Project- Hump Molds
Notes must be in Cornell notes format with 2-3 questions in left column, vocabulary highlighted and respond to the EQ with a 5 complete sentence summary.

EQ 6: How do I use a hump mold to make a bowl?
- Design a template on paper, fold in half, and cut it out
- Select correct size mold and place on a wood bat
- Roll slab, place template on top of clay, apply texture or pattern, trace and cut out
- Do NOT use needle tool to draw designs on clay, do NOT cut designs too deep- your bowl will crack when dries.
- Clean edges, then place face down on mold.
- Use a flat surface to define the bottom. Use a circular shape and trace where foot will be
- Roll a coil, measure, overlap and cut.
- Score, slip and blend coil to foot. Ensure flatness by placing a bat on top of foot.
- FULL name and period should be written inside of foot area.
